THE THIRD SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE OF
ALBANIAN IMAGING
On October 27, 2007 was held in the capital of Albania the third scientific conference of the Albanian Imaging. This conference was made in cooperation with the Albanian Imaging Association (AIA) and the Department of Imaging of the Central University Hospital Mother Teresa in Tirana.
In this event took part Albanian and other invited radiologists from Kosovo, Montenegro, Macedonia, Italy and USA. The topics of scientific were wide and the themes were presented from radiologists of this countries. The conference was honored by the participation of the Albanian Minister of Health Mr. Nard Ndoka who held the opening speech.
The first session was presented from Prof. Krenar Preza the general secretary of AIA and also the head of the Imaging Department of the Central University Hospital Mother Teresa in Tirana who greeted all the participants. The moderators of the first session were Prof. Aqif Gjokutaj president of AIA, Prof. MD. Krenar Preza, Prof. MD Cosma Andreula and MD Halit Ymeri.
The second session was held by the moderators Prof. MD Tahir Hysa, Ass. Prof. Vangjush Golloshi and MD Shpetim Telegrafi.
The themes of the conference were:
1. The abdominal trauma and ultrasonographic evaluation.
2. Different spinal interventional procedures.
3. Neurologic emergencies.
4. Acute pulmonary edema.
5. Foreign bodies in the respiratory airways and the treatment.
6. Imaging diagnose of pulmonary embolia.
7. The values of XRay in the abdominal emergencies.
8. The role of radiology in the closed hepatic trauma.
9. Ultrasound diagnosis in the right lower abdomen pains in pediatrics.
10. Ectopic pregnancy and its ultrasound diagnose
11. Intussusceptions diagnose in pediatrics.
12. Multislice spiral CT diagnosis in the aneurism of thoracic aorta.
13. Some cases diagnosed with DSA and 3 D angiography.
14. Angio CT and the intestinal ischemia and infarction.
15. Percutane drainage of abdominal fluid collection with CT.
16. Acute cholecistitis.
17. The radiology of urinary emergencies.
18. The ultrasound of inflammatory conditions.
The conference closed successfully and it was defined as a valuable achievement of albanian imaging and especially in the diagnostic field.
Prof MD Krenar Preza proposed the idea of the next conference theme which will be "The values of contrast media in imaging".
